HOUSTON – Monday’s Forecast:
Back to work and school with more heat and humidity. The NWS extended the heat advisory through Monday night as feels-like temperatures push over 110 degrees.
Tracking The Tropics:
Ernesto is the only storm in the Atlantic. It made landfall in Bermuda early Saturday morning as a category 1 hurricane. Due to dangerous rip currents, we will continue to watch dangerous conditions on the East Coast’s beaches. Ernesto is now a category 1 storm and will continue to weaken as it curves and moves closer to Europe. There will be no impacts on the Gulf Coast with this storm.
Slight Pattern Change:
A strong high-pressure ridge dominates our weather pattern. The ridge will weaken slightly late this week, so as August ends, we will drop a few degrees into the mid and upper 90s instead of triple digits.
10-day Forecast:
Monday and Tuesday rain chances fall below 20%. Rain chances return as a cold front will open the door for more scattered showers and storms by the midweek through the weekend.
