HOUSTON – Friday is our first day since last Friday that our temperatures will be below 100°. We will still be hot in the upper-90s in the afternoon with a heat index of 106°. We also have a chance to get some showers and thunderstorms late morning through the afternoon.

By the time we get to the weekend, our high-pressure system weakens enough to lower temperatures to the mid-90s. There is also a chance of storms.
