Tracking a cool front Friday in Houston!

Our first front of the season

Here is where the front is Thursday night (Copyright 2024 by KPRC Click2Houston - All rights reserved.)
We’ve been waiting for it!

We get our first taste of fall weather this weekend. A cool front moves through southeast Texas Friday. Let me first tone down expectations. Daytime high temperatures will not drastically cool. In fact Saturday, highs are still in the 90s. But what you’ll feel is drier air. The humidity will lower dramatically! Our dew points which measure how much moisture is in the atmosphere, and how it “feels” outside, will fall from the 70s to the 50s! Right now, Monday night, our dew point is 72°, that is a really sticky feel. Saturday and Sunday our dew points fall to the 50s making for an amazing feel.

Morning temperatures will lower:

As the dry air settles in morning tempers fall to the 60s. Our average morning temperature this time of year is 76° and we’ll be around 10° degrees lower than this early next week. Enjoy this while we have it. The humidity climbs Wednesday of next week.
