HOUSTON – The National Weather Center is now monitoring a region off the coast of Texas that has a 10% chance of development in the next two days. This is the same low-pressure system that has been bringing showers and storms for a week. This system will continue to bring the threat of heavy rainfall and flooding to our coastal areas.

Regardless of development, our forecast is unchanged. We are still tracking the potential for heavy rains that could bring flash flooding, especially south of I-10 where we have a flood watch.
When our front moves in late Friday this will immediately end the chance for development. Upper-level winds will not be conducive for any tropical systems to form.
