Low humidity and sunshine making for a beautiful start to the weekend

Tracking The Tropics:

A low pressure in the Bay of Campeche is now Potential Tropical Cyclone 6. This disturbance will likely form a center of circulation, giving it a new classification of Tropical Storm Francine early week. As this system moves north, it will tap into moisture from a dying front and what was a low-pressure system.

This low pressure is still missing a center of circulation but is forecasted to organize into a tropical storm this week.

As of Saturday night, Tropical Storm Watches have been issued along the Mexican Gulf Coast as the storm moves northwest, before moving northeast along the Texas coastline.

Tropical Watch in effect for coastal Mexico
Storm will continue to move NW out of Mexico's coast into South Texas's coast.

After that northeast turn, the storm will continue to gain strength as it approaches the upper Texas and Louisiana coast, where it can upgrade to a category one Hurricane by Wednesday before landfall. There is still a chance for rapid intensification of its approach to landfall.

Landfall possible Wednesday with the storm gaining strengthen to hurricane status.
After Landfall midweek the storm will continue to weaken Thursday and pull away from Texas.

SE Texas timeline is Tuesday through early Thursday - Tuesday, rain begins to pick up; Wednesday is when impacts will be the greatest, and Thursday, the storm begins to pull away.

Potential impacts include flooding rain, coastal inundation, and tropical storm force winds, with the coast feeling the worst in Texas.

Impacts include rain, rough surf, flooding and winds over 39 mph.

There is still uncertainty about the storm’s path because no defined center of circulation exists. Impacts can be drastically different for Houston, depending on any slight changes to the path.

Remember, the farther west the storm goes, the more impacts SE Texas sees, and the farther east it goes, the less impact there will be on Houston. Anyone from southeast Texas to Louisiana, prepare for changes to the forecast.

Depending if the storm moves west or east will determine how much rain and winds SE Texas sees.

10-day Forecast:

Monday plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures enjoy the beautiful weather because by Tuesday conditions will shift to rainy as the tropical low moves closer to southeast Texas. The tropical rain will continue through Wednesday with rain tapering off Thursday.
