Weekend Forecast:
HOUSTON – We’re heading back into a summer-like pattern for the foreseeable future. This weekend will be hot! Temperatures climb to the mid-90s with heat index values reaching 105° both Saturday and Sunday.
For the late football games, it’ll start warm but be in the lower-80s by the end of the game. Here are some forecasts for our local games this weekend.
Texans Tailgate Forecast:
For the home opener, the Texans are kicking off home in style on Sunday Night Football! Tailgating for the game will be toasty in the lots. Expect mid 90s setting up the tailgate and with a high humidity, it’ll feel like the triple digits.
By kick-off temperatures will be in the upper-80s. If you can’t make it out to NRG Sunday, you can watch the Texans on KPRC for Sunday Night Football!
Tracking the Tropics:
The tropics are active, as we expect to see in mid-September but thankfully there is no threat to the Gulf Coast. Tropical Storm Gordon is 4,000 miles away in the eastern Atlantic and not a threat to the US at this time. Otherwise, we’ll watch the area of interest off the Carolina coastline through the weekend as it may try to spin up a storm.
There are also one region with a medium chance for development near the Carolinas. This is not a threat to the Gulf Coast.
10-day Forecast:
We are staying dry through the 10-day forecast! Highs will be in the 90s, but morning lows will be comfortable in the lower and mid-70s!
