Happening NOW: We’re tracking a tropical depression that is expected to intensify while it moves across the Gulf of Mexico—with the potential of becoming hurricane strength as it reaches the Florida Peninsula mid-week.
We’ll continue to track for the chance of life-threatening storm surges and wind impacts late Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. The latest update from the NWS has Tropical Depression Fourteen about 250 miles northeast of Veracruz, Mexico.
Heavy rainfall is already expected ahead of any development bringing more risk to areas that were already hit hard by Hurricane Helene.
