Monday’s Forecast

We’ll continue to track above average temperatures on Monday with a high close to triple-digits - 96. The record high from 2015 was 92.

Thankfully, a cold front is headed our way later this week that will bring back fall like weather but we’ll start the week above average and hot. We’re also tracking the chance for a foggy Monday morning commute - so make sure to use your low beams if you encounter fog while driving to work.

We did break several records on Sunday in Austin and Waco, but overall it was hot in Texas this weekend thanks to a high pressure system.

Big changes to the cold front forecast next week:

Unfortunately for those of you waiting for sweater weather, the chill won’t be arriving next week. While the front is still coming, it doesn’t look as strong as it did yesterday. So instead of highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s, expect temperatures in the 80s during the afternoon and 60s in the morning.

Depending on cold front's timing and strengthen highs maybe in the low to mid 80s Wednesday.

Tuesday is October 15th, which is actually pretty seasonal for our first fall front to arrive. Last year and in 2021 our first big cold front arrived in Mid-October. The first real BIG one may have to wait until closer to the end of the month.

We’re tracking thunderstorms with a well-defined area of low pressure a couple of hundred miles away from Cabo Verde Islands.
