Tonight we are still mild and muggy. Temperatures will be in the 70s for most of the night with overnight lows in the 60s.
Tuesday’s Forecast:
Tuesday will be dangerously hot with high temperatures once again in the mid-to-upper 90s. This is our final hot day, and potentially the last 90° day of the year.
Cold Front Tuesday Night:
Our cold front will finally move through Tuesday evening. This is a dry cold front, so there are no storms in the forecast. Highs will drop to the 70s Wednesday and Thursday. Humidity will be low so it will be sunny and feel fall fantastic.
Low temperatures will fall into the mid-50s in Houston! If Houston is in the 50s, locations to our north and west will drop to the 40s Thursday morning. Bundle up!
Tracking the Tropics:
There are two systems we are watching in the tropics. Neither is a threat to Texas. The region in yellow will bring rain to Central America but will be blocked from coming here by our front. The region in orange could impact Puerto Rico, but then would curve north into the Atlantic (nowhere near the Gulf Coast).
Tropical season runs through November, but here in SE Texas we do not see tropical systems after our first fronts arrive. As the cold fronts get stronger, most tropical systems that form get blocked from entering the Gulf of Mexico and can have an impact on Mexico or the East Coast.
10-day Forecast:
Our big fall front arrives Tuesday night! This will bring us from highs in the 90s to highs in the 70s. Although we do warm back up to the mid-80s by next weekend, it will feel nice compared to the 99° we hit on Monday.
