STORM TRACKER: Storms loom over Houston on Halloween. Will it ruin trick-or-treating?

HOUSTON, Texas – On Thursday, Halloween begins with warm and muggy conditions across much of the Houston area.

Rain is expected to last throughout the rest of the week.

KPRC 2 is out on the Houston area roads tracking the storms. From our storm trackers, we can see grey skies and some heavy scattered showers along southeast Houston heading into the metro areas.

According to our meteorologists who are tracking the storms, by midday Thursday, the front is expected to approach the immediate Houston area, bringing with it a fragmented line of showers and thunderstorms.

Some of these storms could produce very heavy rainfall. Currently, the threat of severe weather appears to be low; however, there remains a slight possibility of gusty winds and lightning -- which we are already seeing Thursday morning.
