BRRRreak out the coat: Houston’s temperature dropping more than 40 degrees Sunday afternoon to Monday morning

The coldest air of the season is on the way as a blast of arctic air arrives behind a cold front on Sunday.

Cold air arrives Monday

SE Texas goes from above average to below average in a blink of an eye. Don’t be caught off guard, you’ll need the thick socks, fleeced coats and gloves starting Monday.

Sunday winds will gust out of the south, helping boost temperatures into the Mid-70s.

By Sunday night, winds gust out of the north, dragging temperatures down hour by hour. By Monday morning, SE Texas wakes up to temperatures below freezing—a more than 40-degree temperature drop in less than 24 hours.
