Tonight’s Forecast:
HOUSTON – Temperatures tonight will plummet through the 30s. We have a cold air advisory in place because wind chills can drop as low as 20 degrees. While it’s not cold enough to burst pipes, it threatens your tropical plants. Be sure to bring them inside or cover them up to keep them safe.

Tuesday’s Forecast:
Tuesday will be similar to Monday with sunshine and highs in the 40s and lower-50s. It will be a chilly, but dry day!
Thursday’s Messy Forecast:
Our far northern counties may see a few flurries and even some sleet/wintry mix for late Thursday afternoon/evening. Instead of snow on Thursday and Friday, expect cold rain and a flood threat as a coastal low spin along the Gulf Coast.
Another shot of cold air is expected to plunge into the state late Wednesday, while a Pacific low-pressure system will plug a ton of warmer moisture meeting up with that cold air. Here’s where the wintry problems begin:
The combination of warmer air from the Gulf hitting the very cold air around Dallas will lead to every form of wintry precipitation starting early Thursday with freezing rain on the roads and sleet, before changing over to snow by sunrise. Conditions will continue to deteriorate on the roads heading into Dallas through the day.
The big question is where will the freezing line set up. Right now we have it well to our north. This means we will only see cold rainfall. If the freezing line drops south we could see a wintry mix (freezing rain / ie ice) as far south as Madisonville.
There is a risk for heavy rainfall on Thursday that could lead to street flooding. The risk is highest for those south of I-10. This means you will need to plan for extra time on the roads on Thursday. It’s never a good idea to drive into a road with standing water. Remember, turn around don’t drown! When in doubt, find another route!
10-day Forecast:
The one consistent thing we have in our 10-day is how cold are mornings are through Thursday. Every day is at or around freezing. We won’t be below freezing all day, highs climb to the 40s. All of the arctic air moves out next weekend.
