Fans gather in Midtown park to party on eve of UH-OU season opener

HOUSTON – There was plenty of music and just as much fun as UH fans mingled with OU fans ahead of tomorrow's big game.

Jaime Escontrias, a UH Fan said, "Hey man, this is the era. H-town takeover. We're ready."

Although the showdown is still a day away, a couple hundred people packed Bagby Park to get prepared.

Coogs and Sooner fans were each hoping the start to the season will be a winning one for their team.

Escontrias said, "if we beat Houston tomorrow, which I feel were going to do, it's on."

Patti Gunter, an OU fan mentioned, "You know somebody's going to win and somebody is going to lose. And unfortunately it's going to be the Cougars."

Houston's own Paul Wall took the stage to get the crowd pumped up, as did the cheerleaders and mascots for both teams.

It's all fun and games now, but tomorrow it's all business.

Alexis Olsen, a UH Fan, said, "Oh my gosh, I can't wait. It's going to be amazing. I can't believe were playing OU. We're going to go ahead of time and tailgate. It's going to be a lot of fun."
