Fans pack Discovery Green Park to capacity for final day of free music festival

HOUSTON – Those inside the fences on Sunday had an absolute blast.

“I really love all the music, all the concerts are awesome!” Sarai Mendoza said.

Maroon 5 wrapped up their show around 9:30 p.m.

“Pitbull, Maroon 5, Flo Rida, it's been a great time!” Chris Thompson said.

Instead of a show, it was more like a massive party with no age requirement as some of the hottest music artists rocked the stage.

“We've been having a good time, we've been here for over three hours and a really amazing time,” Kallie Walters said.

But it was another night that many stayed on the outside of Discovery Green Park.

Around 5:30 in the afternoon, the gates were closed.

“Disappointed. Mostly. Wanted to see Pitbull but I guess not. Next time,” Noe Aguilar said.

Although people outside were seeing red, it was all maroon for those inside.
