HOUSTON – The Houston Fire Department is investigating a warehouse fire on Thursday that sent one worker to the hospital Thursday.
Firefighters were called to Southwest Metal Recycling plant in the 9400 block of Rhonda and found a pile of old scrap cars engulfed in flames. Investigators said a worker was removing fuel, when it ignited and spread quickly.
The employee suffered second-degree burns to the back and face, officials said. First responders took the employee to the hospital in serious, but stable condition.
