The district Tuesday released pictures showing a fan's-eye view of what will become the new stadium that will seat 12,000 people. The current stadium seats nearly 10,000.
The multipurpose space will also include a two-story press box, training rooms and a 12,000 square feet field house with spaces for police officers, paramedics and coaches. The district will also leave the second floor of the building empty for future expansion and will include a high school football hall of fame.
Rhodes Stadium will still be used after the new stadium's completion.
The new stadium was part of a $748 million school bond package that was approved by voters last November.
