Hyundai customers lined up early outside Greenspoint Mall on Saturday to get their free anti-theft update for their cars. Over the past two years car thefts, involving Hyundai cars, have been on the rise.
Owners of 2010-2021 Hyundai vehicles can receive a free anti-theft upgrade this weekend at Greenspoint Mall, located at 12300 North Freeway. The event will take place Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with no appointment necessary.

“I came out here because I want to reduce the risk of theft to my vehicle, particularly these nuisance thefts, which are all about joyriding. They’re not taking the cars, stripping them and selling them, and they’re not, disposing of them for parts. They’re actually riding around and, then trashing them,” says Derrill Holly, who took advantage of the event.
The process to upgrade only takes about 20 minutes. For people who stopped by, they say it’s time well spent.
“I’m glad I and I came out with a software update for that,” says Holly.
