HOUSTON – The Houston Fire Department was called at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday to a home at Friendly and Tidwell Roads in Houston after a fire broke out.
According to the HFD fire chief, the fire started in a back bedroom where a young girl was burning incense. The incense apparently caught something on fire and spread quickly, causing damage to the back half of the one-story wood frame house, the chief said.
Firefighters quickly got the fire under control.
Two adults were also home when the house caught fire, HFD said. Everyone got out safely and suffered no injuries.
The family of five will spend the holidays with relatives.
