VICKSBURG, Miss. – A Mississippi woman got a massive catch during an alligator hunt Saturday at Bayou Pierre.
Tiffany Wienke caught an alligator that measured nearly 14 feet and weighed 686 pounds. It's one-eighth of an inch longer than the previous record.
"We're completely content with the fact that this will probably be the biggest alligator we'll ever catch," Wienke told WLBT. "It's not gonna keep us from going back. But we're completely happy with this."
Wienke's husband and four others helped her catch the record-breaking gator.
"He ran us literally crashed us into some trees and back-to-bank," Wienke said. "He was pulling this boat full of people like it was nothing."
Wienke sold the alligator. It will be processed for its meat and skin.
She said it doesn't pay much, but the hunt is worth it for the adrenaline rush.
