Pedestrian struck, killed by Metro train in north Houston, police say

HOUSTON – A pedestrian was killed Saturday near Neyland at Fulton in north Houston, according to Houston police.

Metro said a train was headed south around 2:50 p.m. at Neyland and Fulton when it struck a Hispanic man. The operator, according to Metro, saw the man standing in the middle of the tracks, facing the oncoming train. Metro said the operator tried to apply the brakes, but couldn't do so in time.
