Over a dozen bullet points better outline how this trio escaped the Harris County juvenile detention center back on Nov. 15.
Among the issues, negligence and policy violations by detention personnel allowing the juveniles to escape undetected.
The report also mentions the detention officer who was badly beaten was the sole officer on duty on the seventh floor, leaving him vulnerable.
After assaulting that detention officer, the group got away and were on the run for days.
Channel 2 was there as one by one, Deionthay Harper, Alferis Coby and Jahrell West were all eventually re-arrested.
Channel 2 learned the group of escapees left the downtown area on the Metro Rail System.
Other serious issues the report is shedding light on lack of supervision that led to the escape.
The report indicates night shift staff routinely left the doors unlocked. One Intake employee said keeping the doors unsecured had become “a culture of the department."
Another issue mentioned in the report, if another employee had been monitoring security cameras, the assault would have been observed and the escape prevented.
