Storm floods cars at hotel in Galleria area

HOUSTON – A time to relax turned into a giant headache for people at one hotel in the Galleria area.

Several vehicles flooded due to rising water levels from Saturday's rain.

KC Kubli is in Houston from Boston at business and is staying at the Omni Hotel on the city's west side.

"It's raining non-stop," Kubli said. "There's waters and puddles and splashing everywhere. It's just an incredible amount of rain. I didn't realize my hotel was going to be flooded."

The main entrance to the hotel was closed. Several cars and trucks parked outside the building stalled out in high waters.

A woman and her six children had plans to come to the Omni for Sunday morning brunch, but they had to turn around and leave.

After more than 24 hours of heavy rain in Houston, the storm moved, but it left behind a giant mess.

The last time we spoke to Kubli, he was having difficulty finding his way back inside his hotel.

"I'm trying to walk into the building myself and figure out how to get into the building," Kubli said.
