SWAT team called to house after family disturbance in North Harris County

 A man was arrested after the Harris County SWAT team surrounded a home in north Harris County, deputies said.

Harris County sheriff’s deputies were called to a house in north Harris County on Marsham Circle around 7:15 p.m. Saturday for a family disturbance.

Deputies arrived to find a woman in the home with a broken bone and a little girl with a head wound, officials said.

According to authorities, a rock had been thrown through a window at the house, which hit the little girl in the head.

Both the little girl and the woman were taken to the hospital.

Deputies said the father had fled from the house to a relative’s house nearby when deputies arrived.

According to authorities, at 1:51 a.m. Sunday deputies received reports that the father had returned to the home.

When deputies arrived to the house A second time the father had barricaded himself inside and said that he would shoot if they tried to enter, officials said.

He also threatened to kill his wife when he found out where they took her, according to deputies.

The 49-year-old man finally surrendered after a standoff with the Harris County SWAT team.

They have identified the man, but are not releasing his identity, deputies said.

Authorities said he faces charges of assault family violence.
