HOUSTON – A jersey belonging to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady that disappeared after the team’s Super Bowl LI victory is valued at $500,000, according to a police report.
The Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 on Feb. 5 at NRG Stadium with an overtime touchdown. It was the first time that a Super Bowl was decided in extra time.
After the win, someone stole the jersey was from the Patriots' locker room.
“I put it in my bag and I came out and it wasn’t there anymore,” Brady said the next day. “It’s unfortunate, because that’s a nice piece of memorabilia.”

A Houston police report released Tuesday showed that the case has been assigned to the major offenders division.
The report said the jersey is believed to have been swiped between 9:25 and 10:15 p.m. Feb. 5.
Brady, described in the report as a 39-year-old, 6-foot, 4-inch, 225-pound white male, was listed as the only complainant.

“On 2/05/17, the city of Houston hosted Super Bowl LI in the NRG Stadium. Shortly after winning the game, New England (Patriots) quarterback Tom Brady noticed his game jersey missing from his locker in the (Patriots’) designated locker room.”
The day after the theft, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said he told the Texas Rangers, the state’s investigative agency, to assist Houston police with the investigation.
“It is important that history does not record that it was stolen in Texas,” Patrick said in a written statement.
So far, the jersey has not been found.
