After days of rain rivers and streams remain high across SE Texas. Some areas picked up over 20 inches over the last 7 days most of that coming down Wednesday through Sunday of last week.
This outstanding rainfall pushed the Trinity River and San Jacinto River to major flood stage. There are other rivers that are flooding too. You can see our stream status below, or check out our Flood Tracker. Avoid parking along streams, rivers and creeks. Never drive around a barrier.
Don’t let this week’s sunshine fool you, high water may still be present for some areas. Not only can you be swept away, but floodwaters also hide dangers that can cause sickness, injury or even death! Do not let children play in floodwaters!
Early week forecast:
Fog is possible early Monday morning. Throughout the afternoon and evening, there are more clouds than sun, with an isolated shower. The big change will be temperatures- Monday’s highs will be in the upper 80s. Tuesday, we could see our first 90-degree day of the year.
This warm-up continues over the next few days, and with high humidity, by Wednesday, temperatures could be close to 100 degrees. So if you are cleaning up your property, be sure to stay hydrated as this heat may lead to exhaustion.
10-Day Forecast:
We head into a hotter weather pattern with our first 90° day of the year expected. There is also the possibility of a cool front moving through Friday. That would bring in dry air (low humidity) and a slightly lower temperature.
